Kenmare Street Scene

One of the favourite routes. Start and finish the tour in the bustle of Killarney. From Monday to Wednesday, circumnavigate the beautiful Beara and Mizen Peninsulas before heading inland on Thursday to peaceful Gougane Barra, site of St. Finbar's hermitage retreat.

Tour Highlights:
- Killarney
- Beara Peninsula
- Schull and Mizen Head
- Gougane Barra

Note: This tour is also available as an Individual or Self-led tour, starting any day except Saturday.

DAY 1 (Saturday) Arrival
Meeting in the centre of Killarney with the tour guide and the rest of the group for briefing and get-together dinner.

DAY 2 (Sunday) Killarney to Kenmare
Set out on a cycle lane, which winds through Muckross National Park. In the afternoon, the road climbs in the shadow of the Macgillycuddy Reeks before we freewheel down to the coastal village of Kenmare for the night.

DAY 3 (Monday) Beara Peninsula
Leave Kerry and cycle along the coast road of the remote Beara Peninsula as far as the fishing port of Castletownbere.

DAY 4 (Tuesday) Bantry Bay
After a morning cycle to Glengariff, take a boat across Bantry Bay to shorten the afternoon cycle to the village of Schull.

DAY 5 (Wednesday) Rest Day - Schull
Options for the rest day include a boat trip to Cape Clear Island, exploring Mount Gabriel on foot, bike tour of Mizen Head or else stay in Schull and relax for the day.

DAY 6 (Thursday) Gougane Barra
Cycle inland to the hotel in Gougane Barra, which is in isolated splendour, overlooking the lake in this dramatic place of pilgrimage.

DAY 7 (Friday) Killarney
Head homeward on quiet roads with swimming stops in river pools along the way. Return to Killarney for a final evening meal together and a night on the town.

DAY 8 (Saturday) Departure
The tour finishes with a final breakfast together.
