The coast of West Ireland

Mayo has some of Ireland's least known yet most beautiful scenery. From Westport, circle Lough Conn for two days before heading north to the Atlantic and the wide open plains of West Mayo. The rest day is on Achill Island which has inspired painters and writers for generations.

Tour Highlights:
- Westport
- Lough Conn
- Ceide Fields
- Achill Island

DAY 1 (Saturday) Arrival
Meeting in the centre of Westport with the tour guide and the rest of the group for briefing and get-together dinner.

DAY 2 (Sunday) Western Way to Pontoon
Follow the Western Way walking route for the first ten miles and then head to the village of Pontoon to stay in a hotel overlooking the lake.

DAY 3 (Monday) Downpatrick Head and Ballycastle
Continue around Lough Conn and in the afternoon reach Ballycastle where you can visit the cliffs at Downpatrick Head.

DAY 4 (Tuesday) Ceide Fields and Belmullet
Heading along the coast to Belmullet, stop en route in the Ceide Fields Visitor Centre, which explains the archaeological survey of a 5,000 year old field system.

DAY 5 (Wednesday) Achill Island
One option is to cycle to Blacksod Bay and take a boat to Achill Island. Alternatively there is a spectacular cycle along the Atlantic coast and over the bridge to Achill

DAY 6 (Thursday) Rest Day - Achill
The guesthouses in Achill are situated in the village of Keel, overlooking a stunning beach.

DAY 7 (Friday) Westport
