Traditional Stone Wall

Donegal is a place apart from the rest of Ireland, in many ways closer to Scotland than to Dublin. It has some of our most dramatic scenery, a particular music tradition, a distinctive accent and a friendly welcome.

Tour Highlights:
- Slieve League
- Glenveagh National Park
- Fanad Peninsula
- Yeats' Country

DAY 1 (Saturday) Arrival
Meeting in the centre of Sligo with the tour guide and the rest of the group for briefing and get-together dinner.

DAY 2 (Sunday) Slieve League to Glencolumbkille
Take a morning coach transfer to the fishing town of Killybegs and, from there, head past the towering sea cliffs at Slieve League and on to the village of Glencolumbkille.

DAY 3 (Monday) Dungloe and the Rosses
Leave the Glen and head into an Irish outback of blanket bogs and spectacular isolated beaches, finally arriving in the town of Dungloe on the edge of the Rosses.

DAY 4 (Tuesday) Glenveagh National Park
The route bisects Mount Errigal and Glenveagh National Park, leading to the village of Dunfanaghy, a perfect haven in which to rest.

DAY 5 (Wednesday) Rest Day - Dunfanaghy
The hotel overlooks Portnablagh Beach and dunes where you can swim, swing a golf club or take a change of saddle to gallop down the beach.

DAY 6 (Thursday) Fanad Peninsula
Head east onto the Fanad Peninsula and the picturesque town of Rathmelton.

DAY 7 (Friday) Yeats' Country
Take a coach transfer in the morning before cycling back on the quiet roads of 'Yeats Country', the birthplace of the famous poet, W.B. Yeats. Visit Lough Gill and Lough Melvin to Sligo.

DAY 8 (Saturday) Departure
The tour finishes with a final breakfast together.
