at the junction of the Boyle and Shannon rivers, Portumna
at the top of the majestic Lough Derg and Belturbet
on the Erne, you can choose between quite different types of waters to spend a
lovely holiday.
The onshore facilities at the Bases include comfortable reception
foyers, instructional videos, showers, laundrettes, clothes drier, and parking.
All the boats have a telephone on board for contact with the Base if required.
There is so much to see, so much to do and so many places to
visit – all in amazing and contrasting scenery – and the freedom to
do it! You have canals, narrow and wider sections of river, and lakes dotted with
islands.
There are only 6 locks on the entire Shannon and 16 automatic
ultra modern electronic locks on the Shannon-Erne waterway.
